Utah Voices sings ‘Messiah’ with spirit conviction

December always brings a full slate of “Messiahs” to the Wasatch Front, and Utah Voices — a relative newcomer to the state’s choral scene — made a noteworthy contribution to the ranks this year.

Utah Voices: 'Carmina Burana,' a medieval love story

Utah Voices presents the popular cantata — Catherine Reese Newton of the Salt Lake Tribune reports: Utah Voices made its debut in December performing Handel's "Messiah." For its follow-up concert, the community group will perform a work that represents a 180-degree turn: "Carmina Burana," Carl Orff's popular cantata based on somewhat-bawdy texts by medieval monks.

Broadway Bingo Concert Plays to Sold Out Crowd

True to Dr. Huff''s word, the Broadway Bingo concert was far from boring! The band was truly amazing. Add to that the Broadway-calibur talents of Kelly DeHaan and Jennifer Hohl and you have a truly exiting evening from start to end.

In fact, due to a sold-out 7 p.m. show, Utah Voices added a 'late show' at 9 p.m. that was just as full of energy as the early show and well attended.

Kurt Bestor’s Timpanogos to Highlight Salt Lake Symphony and Utah Voices Concert in May

SALT LAKE CITY—Timpanogos: A Prayer for Mountain Grace, a tone poem by Emmy Award-winning composer Kurt Bestor with libretto by award-winning author Terry Tempest Williams, will be the highlight of Salt Lake Symphony’s next concert, “American Roots,” featuring the acclaimed chorus, Utah Voices and the group’s Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Michael Huff. The concert will be Saturday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Libby Gardner Hall at the University of Utah. All tickets are $10 and general admission. Ages eight and up are recommended.

Utah Voices Will Present a Concert That’s Both Fun and Games

SALT LAKE CITY—For their March concert, Utah Voices will put a new “spin” on Broadway show tunes with “Broadway Bingo,” featuring special guests and hosts Kelly DeHaan and Jennifer Hohl. The performances is Friday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Libby Gardner Hall at the University of Utah School of Music, (1375 E. President’s Circle) in Salt Lake City.
