Our Needs
I am more aware than ever of how choral music plays a key role in helping communities weather all sorts of storms… [Choral music] builds community. It brings together people of different ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds, united in a love of great music. Have we ever needed this more than right now?
Knight Kiplinger, editor-in-chief of all Kiplinger financial publications, choir singer
Utah Voices is a non-profit organization and relies upon membership dues, ticket sales, contributions from the community, member fundraising and volunteers to cover the cost of each concert. These costs include such things as concert venue rental, stagehand fees, sound equipment rental, piano and organ tuning, program printing, advertising, music needs, guest performers, artistic director honorarium, liability insurance and various taxes.
Did you know that production costs alone, for a single concert at our current home, Libby Gardner Hall on the University of Utah campus, ranges from $5,000 to $10,000? An outdoor setting can cost upwards of $40,000!
Will you consider joining us by making a *tax-deductible contribution today?
Donations to Utah Voices are gratefully accepted and there are many ways to give. Cash is always greatly appreciated and humbly accepted; however, we have developed several alternatives as well. For a business, in-kind gifts such as goods and services provided by your company (printing, promotional wear, accommodations for guest soloists, production equipment, etc.) can qualify as a donation/gift. Depending on the value of the donation, it can be used for equal value in the sponsorship program. If you are not sure and would like more information, please contact us at info@utahvoices.org or call 801-448-6175 and someone will be in touch with you. You can also donate directly to a specific function or asset for Utah Voices as listed below.
Production Fund—physical structure and performance space; photocopying and printing services; scores for accompanists and orchestra; royalties and copyrights; paid musicians for concerts; guest artists’ performance fees and accommodations.
Organizational Fund—Utah Voices is a volunteer-managed, non-profit organization; however, the artistic director draws an honorarium. This fund also covers administrative costs and future rehearsal, office, and storage needs.
Verux Vox Vocis Fund—directly supports this auditioned chamber choir’s operation, performances, and their community outreach initiatives.
Promotion Fund—marketing efforts, concert programs, website maintenance/hosting, and anything that does not directly fall into the other categories. Individuals may purchase recognition space in our concert program for their own names or names printed in memoriam, in honor or in dedication. In turn, we encourage our chorus members, their families and friends, and concert attendees to frequent these businesses.
Please send your *tax deductible donation to Utah Voices, PO Box 1872, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.
